SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to change CFR China methanol cargo size to 5,000-10,000 mt

S&P Global Platts will be increasing the standard cargo volume in its CFR China methanol assessment to 5,000-10,000 mt, in line with changing market conditions and effective June 25, 2018.

Due to continued market research, the effective date for this change was extended from the initial proposal start date of June 18.

Platts will continue to research the proposal to change the delivery laycan to 20-50 days forward from the date of publication from 20-40 days, extending the feedback period to July 5, 2018.

Platts currently reflects in its CFR China methanol assessment a cargo volume size of 3,000-5,000 mt and a delivery laycan 20-40 days forward from date of publication.

Platts remains committed to reflecting standard cargo sizes in its assessments and is constantly reviewing the existing methodology to ensure its assessments reflect standard traded parameters in a given market.
