Following immediate market feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is not implementing its proposal to stop publishing bids and offers for cargoes with delivery periods that straddle two calendar months, and bids with a two-day delivery period over last two days of a calendar month in the Asia-Pacific LNG Platts Market on Close assessment process.
The original proposal note, published May 2, can be accessed here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/050224-platts-proposes-to-stop-publishing-pricing-information-with-cross-month-delivery-periods-in-asia-pacific-lng-moc
Bids and offers for delivered ex-ship cargoes in the Asia-Pacific region with start and end dates for delivery periods straddling two calendar months will continue to be published and may be subject to normalization when considered in the final price assessment.
Furthermore, Platts will continue to publish bids with a two-day delivery period over the last two days of a calendar month. As standard delivery windows are typically three days long, such bids may be restrictive and may be subject to normalization when considered in the final price assessment.
