S&P Global Platts will discontinue the publication of the dollar/mt values of three Sugar M grade Live Spot Quotes listed on India's National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), as well as the Platts USD.INR foreign exchange assessment at 4:30 pm Singapore time that is used to derive those values from third-party exchange data, effective July 1, 2020.
In addition, Platts will stop publishing the third-party Live Spot Quotes of the Sugar M grade futures from NCDEX in Rupees/100 kg from July 1.
Platts understands that these prices are not widely used as reference points for the Indian sugar market.
The affected prices are:
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Kolhapur Rupees/100kg (SPBDG00)
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Kolkatta Rupees/100kg (SPBDH00)
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Delhi Rupees/100kg (SPBDI00)
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Kolhapur $/mt (SPBDB00)
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Kolkatta $/mt (SPBDC00)
• NCDEX India Sugar M Grade Delhi $/mt (SPBDF00)
• USD.INR foreign exchange assessment (AAFGW00)
The NCDEX India Sugar M grade prices are currently published on the Platts Agriculture Alert page 3010, in the Platts Global Sugar Market Report under the header "Domestic Prices", and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
The Platts USD.INR foreign exchange assessment is currently published on Platts Alert Pages: PA1442, MH2160, LN0150, NG2160, PC0107, MW1112, MT1112, ST1112, and in the Platts price database under the code above.
As part of this project, Platts will also remove the following third-party prices from the Platts Global Sugar Market Report, where they are currently listed under the header "Domestic Prices":
• Russia IKAR Sugar Moscow, $/mt (SPBCD00)
• Russia IKAR Sugar Krasnodar, $/mt (SPBCE00)
• China Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Sugar Month 1, $/mt (SPBDD00)
• China Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Sugar Month 2, $/mt (SPBDE00)
• China Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Sugar Month 3, $/mt (SPBEA00)
The Russia IKAR Sugar prices will continue to be published on Platts Agricultural Alert page 3110, while the China Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Sugar prices will continue to be published on Platts Agricultural Alert page 3010.
All these prices will also continue to be published in the Platts price database under the codes listed above.
In addition, the third-party CEPEA Esalq domestic, R$/50 kg (SPBEB00) Brazilian sugar price will be renamed the CEPEA Esalq domestic crystal sugar R$/50 kg price. This will continue to be published on Platts Alert Page 3110, and the Platts price database under the code listed above.
It will also continue to be published in the Platts Global Sugar Market Report, but under a table that will be renamed "Brazilian Sugar Prices", from "Domestic Prices" currently.
