SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes amendments to CFR China styrene monomer standard cargo volume

S&P Global Platts proposes to amend the standard cargo size reflected in its CFR China styrene monomer assessments, effective July 2, 2018.

Platts currently reflects a cargo volume size of 2,000 mt for its CFR China SM assessments.

Platts is proposing to change the cargo volume size for its CFR China SM assessments to reflect 2,000 mt to 3,000 mt. This change is in response to industry feedback that changing trade flows have stipulated an increase in spot cargo deliveries CFR China of up to 3,000 mt.

Platts remains committed to reflecting standard cargo sizes in its assessments and is constantly reviewing the existing methodology to ensure its assessments reflect standard traded parameters in a given market.

Platts invites all stakeholders and interested parties to provide feedback on the proposed change by June 4, 2018.
