Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it will amend its assessment for Yuzhny, Ukraine, to Qingdao, North China, 160,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) Capesize freight to no longer reflect the inclusion of disbursements account (DA) at the loading port, effective June 1, 2018.
This change was first proposed in a note published April 24, 2018 (https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/21875332).
Platts understands that Capesize freight rates for loading iron ore, pellets or concentrates from Yuzhny are typically fixed excluding DA payments. Platts will therefore assess the Yuzhny to Qingdao freight price free of DA payments at the load port.
The assessment appears in the Dry Freight Wire and in the Platts database under the code IOBSC00.
