Platts is proposing to align the publication date for a number of monthly Asian steel prices to the first of each month immediately following the date of assessment, effective July 1, 2016.
The first set of affected assessments are:
SB01144 HRC India domestic ex-works SB01084 CRC CFR East Asia imports SB01176 Plate A36 CFR East Asia imports SB01114 H-beam CFR East Asia imports SB01235 Slab CFR East Asia imports
Currently, these assessments are carried out on the last business day of the month, but are backdated to the first of the month. Platts proposes to continue to assess these prices on the last business day of the month but to publish and database the assessments on the first calendar day of the next month.
The second set of affected assessments are:
AAXNI00 7-inch steel OCTG FOB Tianjin AAXNK00 7-inch steel OCTG FOB Tianjin
These assessments are also carried out on the last business day of the month, and it is proposed that all of the above assessments be databased on the first of the following month to enable easier comparison across products.
