Platts proposes discontinuation of nine US Renewable Energy Certificates assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to discontinue nine US Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) price assessments, effective Aug. 1.

The assessments affected are as follows:

DC REC Class 2 Current Year Vintage ARGAQ00
Virginia In-State SREC 1MW Prior Year Vintage ARIAW00
Virginia In-State SREC 1MW Current Year Vintage ARIAX00
Virginia In-State SREC 1MW Next Year Vintage ARIAY00

In addition, the corresponding abatement value and emissions adjusted REC for Maryland REC Tier 1 Non Black Liquor Current Year Vintage would also be discontinued:

Platts is proposing to discontinue these assessments due to a lack of liquidity in the markets for each REC.
