Platts discontinues CPO and CPKO CIF Rotterdam assessments effective May 6

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued its European assessments for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO), effective May 6.

Market activity for CPO and CPKO has fallen significantly in Europe due to changing consumer habits, and ahead of the EU deforestation-free products legislation coming into force.

The discontinuation affects the following codes:

The discontinuations were proposed on Feb. 18, in a subscriber note available here.

The assessments appeared in Daily Grains, weekly Biomass-Based Diesel report, and on the fixed pages PAA1808 and PAA1810.
