SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to increase frequency of Brazil HRC, rebar assessments

After a period of industry consultation, Platts has decided to increase the frequency of its domestic Brazil hot-rolled coil and rebar prices assessments to weekly from monthly. This increase in frequency would take place from July 1, 2016.

This decision follows a proposal note published on March 31, 2016.

Currently, the hot-rolled coil domestic ex-works Brazil monthly price assessment (product code: SB01138) and the rebar produced ex-works Brazil monthly price assessment (product code: SB01190) are published on the first business day of each month.

Platts will increase the frequency of these assessments to weekly and will publish them on the last business day of the week, thereby capturing changes to an increasingly liquid spot market through the course of the month. These price assessments are only published on the SBB website and price analyzer. All other specifications would remain the same.
