Following industry feedback and to reflect changing market dynamics, S&P Global Commodity Insights has discontinued two Platts China domestic stainless steel price assessments with effect from May 4, 2022.
The discontinuation was initially proposed in a subscriber note published Feb. 3: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/020322-platts-proposes-to-discontinue-two-china-domestic-stainless-steel-assessments
The change was confirmed Feb. 21 in a decision note available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/022122-platts-to-discontinue-two-china-domestic-stainless-steel-assessments
The discontinued prices are the HR304 Ex-warehouse Foshan assessment (SB01136) and the CR430 Ex-warehouse Foshan assessment (SB01074). The last publication date for these assessments was April 29.
Platts other Asia stainless steel assessments, CR304 Ex-warehouse Foshan and CR304 CFR East Asia, are not affected.
The assessments appear in Platts Steel Price Report, SBB Daily Briefing, Platts Price Analyzer and Platts Market Data category SQ.
