Following a review of feedback after a formal proposal published on March 15, 2016, as well as a previous review and consultation period that began January 26, Platts has decided to amend the time stamp reflected in its Americas biofuel, DDGS and grains assessments to reflect a closing value of 2:30 pm Eastern Time from July 1.
Currently, all Platts assessments in these markets for the Americas reflect a closing value of 3:15 Eastern Time.
This change will impact all North American ethanol, biodiesel, RIN, RVO, DDGS and corn assessments as well as Brazilian ethanol assessments.
Platts launched a formal consultation into the closing time for its oil, petrochemicals and agriculture assessments in the Americas on January 26, (http://...ts.com/subscriber-notes-details/26349156), which ran until February 21. Platts will update the market on the results of the consultation for petrochemicals and agriculture separately.
Following the end of this review, on March 15, Platts invited further comment on a specific proposal to amend the time stamp with effect from July 1.
Platts invites all further comments, questions and other feedback. Please send all comments, feedback and questions to americas_ags@platts.com and pricemethodology@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
