Following industry consultation, S&P Global Platts has decided it will not launch a proposed daily spot price assessment reflecting the differential between Platts Central Appalachian thermal coal and Platts US high-vol B export price assessments, as outlined in a proposal note published on March 21, 2018.
The assessment proposed using the CAPP thermal coal price (CAKM001)-- Daily OTC CAPP rail (CSX) OTC 12,500 BTU Prompt Month assessment -- and High Vol B Coking Coal FOB US East Coast (AAWWT00).
Platts continues to invite all questions and feedback to hector.forster@spglobal.com, andrew.moore@spglobal.com, and pricegroup@spglobal.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
