SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to end UKC-Med 30kt clean and 27.5kt dirty tanker assessments

Following feedback to its proposal published on November 12, 2012, Platts confirms that it will discontinue as planned a series of dirty tanker rate assessments for certain European fuel oil routes, reflecting changes in European supply flows that have made the routes less commonly used in the market. Platts will also discontinue as planned its assessments for the value of United Kingdom/Continent-Mediterranean 30kt clean tanker freight rates, with effect from June 3, 2013. These discontinuations reflect the fact oil flows have changed significantly in the market at large, and this route is no longer commonly chartered. These rates are currently published in the Platts Clean Tankerwire and on Platts Global Alert page 558. Platts will discontinue the assessment of the following 27.5 kt dirty routes with effect from June 3, 2013: for Baltic-UK/Continent; UK/Continent-Mediterranean; and Cross Mediterranean (Med-Med). Platts will continue to assess the value of 30kt dirty tankers moving across these routes. The following specific assessments, and associated data, will be discontinued from June 3, 2013.
