Platts to publish ICE gasoil, EFS at Asia close

Platts proposes to launch assessments for the value of gasoil futures contracts that prevail on IntercontinentalExchange at the close of Platts' Market on Close assessment process in Singapore.

These new futures assessments, which would be launched to meet requests from subscribers, would be provided for the first three months trading on ICE.

Platts will also publish the value of the Exchange of Futures for Swaps, EFS contracts that measure the difference in value between ICE Gasoil futures and Singapore gasoil swaps settled using Platts' gasoil assessments.

Both ICE futures and the EFS would be expressed in dollars per metric ton. EFS assessments would also be listed for the prompt three calendar months.

So on June 1, 2009, Platts would assess June, July and August gasoil futures; Platts would also publish a balance June, July and August EFS.

Platts would no longer list the balance month EFS after the 15th of the month, when balance month swaps are no longer assessed. Platts would list futures until they expire on the exchange.

Platts proposes to launch the new assessments on May 18.

The assessment will appear on PGA (page to be announced), and in APAGScan, European Marketscan, and Oilgram Price Report.
