Platts to launch daily spot R-PET mixed colored flake assessments in NWE, UK

Following market feedback, S&P Global Platts will launch daily spot Recycled PET mixed colored flake assessments in the UK and Northwest Europe to broaden Platts' coverage of the Recycled PET markets, in light of increasing consumer demand for recycled plastic. The assessments will launch on May 13, 2020.

The daily assessments will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 1630 London time and would reflect delivery within 3 to 30 days from the date of publication.

The new assessments will have the following specifications:

Basis: Free delivered Northwest Europe (Eur/mt), free delivered UK (GBP/mt)

Standard spot cargo size: Minimum 20 mt lots

Specification: R-PET colored hot-wash flake assessments will reflect material with an IV of 0.72-0.78 from 100% post-consumer recycled content.

The assessments will be published on Petrochemical Alert page PCA503, in Polymerscan, Platts Platform, Platts Market Center and in Platts' price database.
