S&P Global Platts is now using 3.33 as the factor for all methanol conversions to $/mt effective April 5. These conversions were previously calculated and databased using a factor of 3.333 (333.3 gallons per metric ton). However, market feedback suggested conversion factors for methanol range from 3.325-3.34, with 3.33 as the factor most widely accepted by the industry. Further, S&P Global Platts has also relabeled the conversion calculations in its database as follows: PHACF00 - Methanol FOB USG $/mt M1 PHMFA00 - Methanol FOB USG $/mt M2 AAXNJ00 - Methanol FOB USG $/mt M1 Wavg AAXNJ04 - Methanol FOB USG $/mt M2 Wavg AAGJU00 - Methanol FOB USG $/mt M1 Mavg As part of the change, codes PHACF00 and PHMFA00 will be published daily via Petrochemical Alert on Page 872 as well Fridays on Page 347 and Europe and Americas Petrochemicalscan. Codes AAXNJ00 and AAXNJ04 will continue to be published Fridays on PC347 and Europe and Americas Petrochemicalscan.
