SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Launch of new assessment of West African grade gasoil

Please note that S&P Global Platts has launched a daily assessment of West African grade gasoil loading STS basis offshore Lome, Togo, with effect from April 3, 2018.

The new assessment was first announced in a proposal note published on January 11 (available at https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/10157812) and a decision note was published on March 20 (https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/10308480).

SPECIFICATION

The assessment reflects the value of gasoil at 1630 London time with the following characteristics:

- Sulfur: max 0.3%

- Flash point: min 66 degrees Celsius with a reference flash point of 70 degrees Celsius

- Specific gravity: 0.820 kg/l ? 0.870 kg/l with a reference gravity of 0.860 kg/l.

Platts may also take into account indications for other merchantable gasoil grades appropriate for West African delivery, and normalize them back to the reference specification.

BASIS

The West African grade gasoil assessment is STS basis offshore Lome, Togo. Indications from other locations in West Africa may be taken into account and normalized back to offshore Lome.

SIZE

The West African grade gasoil assessment represents parcels of 5,000-10,000 mt. Other cargo sizes may also be considered for assessment purposes but normalized back to the reference cargo size.

LOADING PERIOD

The assessment will reflect material for STS loading in the offshore Lome, three to ten days forward from the date of publication.
