SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts starts publishing outright symbol for FOB China HRC SAE1006

S&P Global Platts has created a new, discrete symbol, STHSA00, for its SAE1006 hot-rolled coil FOB China assessment, effective April 2, 2018. Up until now, Platts assessment of SAE1006 HRC was expressed solely as a premium -- HRC SAE1006 Premium FOB China (STHRY00) -- to that of Carbon Steel HRC SS400 China FOB (STHRZ02). For market clarity, Platts has created the new symbol for SAE1006 HRC, meaning that market participants can observe the assessment as an outright price as well. This removes the need for subscribers to add the premium to the SS400 assessment. The new symbol has been backfilled to June 1, 2015, when STHRY00 was first published, by simply adding the premium to the SS400 price assessment.
