Platts adds Livorno to ports reflected in ULSD CIF Med assessment

S&P Global Platts has expanded the list of ports reflected in its Market on Close assessment process for CIF Mediterranean ULSD cargoes, effective April 1, 2021, to include Livorno in Italy.

Platts understands that Livorno is an import location for diesel, more so when the adjacent refinery is undergoing maintenance or running at very low rates. Platts understands the port to be suitable to handle Handysize tankers for cargo discharge on at least two different berths and a current ULSD storage capacity of 16,000 cubic meters.

Platts now publishes bids and offers in this market for the following locations:

Cyprus : VTT Vasiliko;

Egypt: Alexandria;

France: La Nouvelle, Lavera, Sete;

Greece: Agioi Theodori, Elefsis, Thessaloniki;

Italy: Falconara, Fiumicino, Genoa, Gaeta, Livorno, Naples, Venice;

Malta: Malta; Morocco: Tangier;

Slovenia: Koper;

Spain: Algeciras, Barcelona, Castellon, Cartagena, Huelva, Huelva (South Terminal), Malaga, Tarragona, Valencia;

Tunisia: La Skhirra;

Turkey: Aliaga, Aliaga (Total Terminal), Aliaga (PO Terminal), Dortyol, Iskenderun (PO Terminal), Mersin.

Platts first proposed this change in a note published Jan. 22, with a decision note published Feb. 19. The latter is available here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/021921-platts-to-add-livorno-to-ports-reflected-in-ulsd-cif-med-assessment
