In order to increase ammonia market transparency and increase access to ammonia price data, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch two new daily European ammonia prices in its Fertecon publications, effective May 15, 2023.
In light of growing liquidity in the Mediterranean ammonia markets, Platts proposes to launch a daily assessment of Ammonia CFR Med Region cargoes. This assessment would appear in the Fertecon Ammonia Daily publication. Details of the assessment are as follows:
Ammonia CFR Med Region
Quality: Anhydrous ammonia, which is around 82% nitrogen and is stored and transported as a liquid under pressure at around minus 33 degrees Celsius.
Quantity: 5,000-15,000 mt
Basis and location: Spot. CFR Mediterranean, basis Turkey (assessment excludes Spain/Portugal, but includes all relevant marine ports in Morocco, Tunisia, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Bulgaria)
In order to provide subscribers with access to the full suite of Platts Energy Transition European grey ammonia prices, Platts is also proposing to launch Ammonia FOB Black Sea daily cargo assessments. The existing Ammonia FOB Black Sea $/mt (AMMOG00) assessment published on the Platts Energy Transition Service will match the new assessment in Fertecon publications. Details of the assessment are as follows:
Ammonia FOB Black Sea
Quality: Anhydrous ammonia, which is around 82% nitrogen and is stored and transported as a liquid under pressure at around minus 33 degrees Celsius.
Quantity: 5,000-15,000 mt
Basis and location: Spot. FOB Black Sea
Timing: Product to be loaded 1-6 weeks forward.
