SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches CFR North Asia assessments for 11 crudes

Effective March 26, 2018 Platts has launched daily assessments on a CFR North Asia basis for 11 crude oils.

The new assessments reflect the value of these crudes delivered into north Asia at 16:30 hours Singapore time, including freight and any other relevant costs into North Asia. These assessments are published in addition to Platts existing assessments for all these grades.

The assessment code for Oman CFR North Asia is PCAQJ00. The assessment code for Dubai CFR North Asia is PCAQA00. The assessment code for Murban CFR North Asia is PCAQE00. The assessment code for Upper Zakum CFR North Asia is PCAQB00. The assessment code for Qatar Marine CFR North Asia is PCAQC00. The assessment code for Basrah Light CFR North Asia is PCAQK00. The assessment code for ESPO CFR North Asia is PCAQD00. The assessment code for LOOP sour CFR North Asia is PCAQI00. The assessment code for WTI MEH CFR North Asia is PCAQH00. The assessment code for Forties CFR North Asia is PCAQF00. The assessment code for Dalia CFR North Asia is PCAQG00.

For the freight calculation, the conversion factor for barrel to metric tonnes applied for the grades will be in line with prevailing qualities of the respective grades. The grades' qualities and respective conversion factors will be reviewed periodically.

These new CFR North Asia assessments will help market participants better analyze the competitiveness of crudes flows that increasingly feed the demand of buyers across the region, particularly in high growth demand centers like China, and core refining and consumption countries like Japan and South Korea.
