SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to cease Merchant Bar CFR East Asia price

Following industry feedback, Platts will discontinue publication of the monthly price assessment of Merchant Bar CFR East Asia (SB01165) effective June 2015. The last assessment will be made on May 29.

As Platts had reported, wide product specifications, low liquidity and local pricing have made these pan regional assessments difficult to maintain as a reflection of regional value. Market participants have provided feedback that the price is no longer representative and does not serve a purpose as an industry reference.
