Platts proposes to expand new crop FOB Paranagua soybean assessments

S&P Global Platts proposes, effective June 16, 2021, to expand the new crop FOB Paranagua soybean price assessments coverage.

Platts proposes to launch new crop assessments that reflect loading over April, May and June.

Platts already publishes March as a new crop assessment.

The addition of the months of April, May and June would provide to market participants a clearer view on the FOB Paranagua soybeans market structure during the second quarter of the year, which is the peak harvest and export season.

The proposal is in line with interest in transparent and clearly defined export prices in the region.

The location, quality and quantity are the same as the current Soybeans Brazil FOB Paranagua assessments.

Platts typically begins publishing new crop values on the first publication day after June 15.

As the publication day gets closer to the new crop month ,the assessments would transition to be assessed as the front-month SOYBEX/Soybeans Brazil FOB Paranagua assessment.
