Following market feedback, S&P Global Commodity Insights has changed the assessment laycan for its daily assessments of CFR West Coast India CPO, FOB Indonesia Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Fatty Acid Distillates (PFAD) and Refined Bleached and Deodorized Palm (RBDP) Stearin to individual assessment months for the first and second month, effective March 16, 2022.
S&P Global first proposed this change in a subscriber note published Jan. 28, 2022 here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/011422-platts-proposes-to-change-assessment-months-for-fob-indonesia-cpo-rbdp-stearin-pfad
The assessment laycans will roll over on the first publication day after the 15th of the month.
For example, from March 16 - April 15, the CFR West Coast India CPO, FOB Indonesia CPO, PFAD, and RBDPS assessments will reflect parcels loading over April and May, while from April 16 - May 15, the assessments will reflect parcels loading in May and June.
The first and second month will better match the physical market liquidity as per the Platts CFR West Coast India and FOB Indonesia CPO, PFAD, RBDPS assessment specifications.
Please send any feedback, questions or comments on the change in assessment months to ags@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by S&P Global for public viewing. S&P Global will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
