Following feedback to our subscriber note published on November 2011, Platts will proceed to amend the sulfur content reflected in its 380 CST, high sulfur fuel oil Singapore cargo assessments from July 1, 2012, as announced.
Platts will decrease the maximum specified allowable sulfur to 3.5% maximum standards, lower from the present ceiling of 4% sulfur maximum standard.
At the same time, Platts will lower the sulfur specification of its flagship Arab Gulf HSFO 380 CST netback assessment to 3.5% sulfur.
This will align the sulfur content in HSFO cargoes with standard quality in the bunker fuel market, which is the predominant end-user grade for 380 CST fuel oil cargoes in Singapore and the Arab Gulf.
