Platts US nickel premium assessments halted temporarily due to LME trading suspension

Due to the suspension of nickel futures trading by the London Metal Exchange March 8, S&P Global Commodity Insights will not assess weekly Platts US nickel premiums for March 10.

The affected weekly symbols/prices for March 10 are: the LME Cash Nickel price (LMABF00), the Spot US Nickel Cathode Premium (MMAZM04), the Spot US Nickel Melt Premium (MMAZI04) and the Spot US Nickel Plate Premium (MMAZK04).

The LME said late March 10 that nickel futures trading will remain closed March 11 as it reviews operational procedures for safe re-opening and continues its analysis for netting off long and short positions prior to re-opening.

The missing March 9-11 data, along with missing data for any future dates, will be reflected in the weekly/monthly averages for the following symbols: the LME Cash Nickel Price (LMABF01/LMABF02), the Spot US Nickel Cathode Premium (MMAAQ03), the Spot US Nickel Melt Premium (MMAAS03) and the Spot US Nickel Plate Prem (MMAZL03).
