Following a period of industry consultation and feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it will launch a new Singapore to Australia Clean Medium Range tanker assessment, effective April 2, 2018.
S&P Global Platts has observed the Singapore to Australia MR clean tanker route being predominantly fixed basis a cargo size of 35,000 mt.
Over 90% of the Singapore-Australia MR fixtures tracked over the last year have been concluded basis 35,000 mt, according to fixture data tracked by S&P Global Platts.
Separately, S&P Global Platts will discontinue the current Singapore-Australia 30kt assessment from January 2, 2019.
S&P Global Platts has also proposed to amend the Singapore-Australia clean Medium Range tanker freight rates used in the calculation of its CFR Australia assessments for gasoline, gasoil and jet fuel effective January 2, 2019 in a subscriber note published on February 26, 2018 (https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/21414916).
