Platts includes Puro Earth in the list of standards reflected by its carbon removal price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has added Puro Earth to the list of standards reflected in its existing tech-based carbon removal price assessments, effective from March 1, 2024.

Market feedback suggests that the majority of removal projects under development in the tech-based space are being certified under Puro Earth.

In order to ensure the continued accuracy of its tech-based carbon removal prices, Platts adds Puro Earth to the standards reflected in both current year and year one assessments.

To date, Platts voluntary carbon price assessments have reflected credits issued by the following standards: The Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve (CAR), Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Architecture for REDD+ Transactions, and American Carbon Registry (ACR), as set out in the Carbon Markets Specifications Guide available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/PlattsContent/_assets/_files/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications/method_carbon_credits.pdf

Platts originally proposed to include Puro Earth in the list of standards on Jan. 19 in a subscriber note, and a decision to include was then published on Feb. 5. Links to the proposal and decision notes can be found here:
