Platts clarifies assessment description of APAC coking coal sulfur penalty/premia

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is clarifying the assessment description of the sulfur penalty/premia for Asia-Pacific seaborne hard coking coal to remove an incorrect reference to $/mt. The sulfur differential is assessed as a percentage of PLV FOB Australia.

The assessment description is being updated as follows:

Assessment Symbol
Sulfur per 0.1% as % PLV FOB Australia CPSPA00

The assessment appears in Platts Connect, Steel Markets Daily, Coal Trader International, on fixed pages MW0205 of Platts Metals Alert, ST0205 of Platts Steel Alert, GC1051 of Platts Global Coal Alert and in the Platts price database.

Platts proposed to discontinue the publication of its Asia Pacific coking coal penalties and premia in a subscriber note published Jan. 8, 2024: Platts proposes to discontinue FOB Australia metallurgical coal penalties and premia differentials.
