Platts launches new PNGTS, delivered daily natural gas index

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a new Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS), delivered daily natural gas index (IGBZZ21), effective for trade date Feb. 29 and flow date March 1.

The methodology for the new location is as follows: PNGTS, delivered (daily market only):

Deliveries from Portland Natural Gas Transmission System starting at, but not including Pittsburg (East Hereford), and extending to and including the Dracut interconnection in Middlesex, MA. Deliveries along the joint facilities with Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline from the Westbrook, MA., interconnect through the Dracut interconnect are also included. Trades done on ICE at the M&N US location are not included unless deliveries are specified along the PNGTS and Maritimes joint facilities.

Trades reported generically as M&N US will not be included in the index because Platts would not know the specific delivery location.
