Effective Feb. 25, 2022, S&P Global Platts will resume the publication of bids, offers, trades and indicative market values for commodities loading or delivering in the Black Sea, with the exception of the northwestern part of the Black Sea, north of parallel 45-21.
Platts suspended the publication of bids, offers, trades and indicative market values for commodities loading or delivering in the Black Sea on Feb. 24, 2022, due to uncertainty regarding the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/022422-platts-to-suspend-publication-of-market-information-for-black-sea-markets
Platts understands that all navigation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, north of latitude 45 degrees 21', is currently prohibited until further notice. That latitude passes just south of the Sea of Azov and the Ukraine-Romania border.
Platts will continue to review the situation as it develops.
In Black Sea markets where verifiable market data cannot be observed, Platts will continue to publish assessments for these markets based on previously established relative spreads, netbacks, derivative prices and other data.
In certain markets, Platts will continue to not publish assessments, until further notice, where no relevant, relative data is immediately available.
A list of affected assessments that will not be published on Feb. 25, 2022, will be provided shortly.
