S&P Global Platts proposes to launch a daily Chicago ethanol balance-of-month (balmo) derivative assessment, effective April 1, 2021.
The proposed assessment would be published from the first publishing day through and including the 15th of every month as an outright value in cents/gal, basis 1:30 pm Central time.
The derivative assessment would reflect the Market on Close spot value of the Chicago ethanol (Platts) futures, listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Platts may use balmo and already-published prompt month derivatives when assessing the New York Harbor, Houston and Chicago markets through the calculation of various forward strips and differentials.
Please send any feedback or questions by March 1 to americas_ags@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if the comments are not intended for publication by S&P Global Platts for public viewing.
S&P Global Platts will consider all comments received and will make available comments not marked as confidential upon request.
