Platts proposes to revise European caustic soda FOB location and cargo size

S&P Global Platts is proposing the following changes to the location and cargo size specifications of its weekly European caustic soda export spot price assessment, effective April 7, 2020.

Basis and location: Platts is proposing to widen its assessment location from a FOB Rotterdam basis to a FOB NWE basis, to reflect other active export ports in the Northwest Europe region, with Rotterdam remaining the largest by volume of business.

Standard cargo size: Platts is proposing to reduce the minimum cargo size from 10,000 dmt to 2,000 dmt, to better reflect typical volumes.
