In response to market changes and industry feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it will discontinue the New Orleans to Alexandria Supramax grains freight assessment basis 50,000 mt, effective April 1, 2018.
Platts initially proposed to discontinue the assessment in a note published on December 11, 2017 (https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/21787113).
This change is a reflection of a reduced liquidity in grain flow from the US Gulf Coast to Egypt in the past year.
This assessment appears in the Dry Freight Wire and under the code GRNOE00.
Please send any feedback or questions to shipping@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
