S&P Global Platts is to decrease the frequency of its HRC and CRC FOB Black Sea assessments to weekly from daily, while also decreasing the frequency of its Shredded Scrap South Europe assessment to monthly from weekly.
Platts will also change the weekly assessment dates to Wednesday from Friday for its Black Sea Slab and Medium Sections DDP Europe assessments.
The changes will come into effect on March 6, 2019.
Platts has engaged with market participants on this since December 18 and will make the changes as a result of changing market dynamics and having received positive feedback on the initial proposal.

The last daily assessment will be Thursday, February 28.
Platts will start the new weekly assessments on Wednesday, March 6.

The last weekly assessment will be Friday, March 1.
Platts will start the new monthly assessments on every 10th of the month or closest working day to the 10th, starting Monday, March 11.

The last weekly assessment to be made on a Friday will be on March 1, with the new weekly Wednesday assessment starting on March 6.
Upon reviewing the feedback received, the Platts Rebar EXW NW Europe assessment will remain weekly.
