Platts will begin publishing the new monthly crude oil official selling price "MCO OSP Alpha", as issued by Petronas. Petronas has indicated that the MCO OSP Alpha will initially be the OSP for Kikeh, Labuan and Miri crudes and reflect a basket value of those grades effective January 1, 2014. In due course it is expected that the future grade Kimanis will be added to the basket. The Alpha is set to be a differential to Platts Dated Brent. Tapis Blend, Bintulu and Dulang crudes are set to have fixed differentials to the MCO OSP Alpha, Petronas has stated. Tapis Blend OSP will be set at a $2.50/barrel discount to the MCO OSP Alpha. Dulang OSP will be set at a 40 cents/b discount to the MCO OSP Alpha and Bintulu will be set at a $2.80/b discount to the MCO OSP Alpha. This replaces the previous OSP formula as set by Petronas up to December 2013. The previous formula set Tapis as the Alpha. Labuan and Kikeh were set at $1.30/b premiums to the "Tapis Alpha", Miri Light was set at a $1/b premium to the Tapis Alpha. Bintulu was set at a 30 cents/b discount to the Tapis Alpha and Dulang was set at a 40 cents/b premium to the Tapis Alpha. The new code for the monthly assessment will be AAOTZ00 and will be published on PGA page 1062. Platts will begin publishing the MCO OSP Alpha from February 10, 2014.
