Platts stops publishing part of Japan's PAJ oil product output, export data

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued part of its publication of weekly Petroleum Association of Japan production data following a decision by the PAJ to suspend the publication of this data since the second week of December 2024.

Platts has discontinued its publishing of weekly PAJ production data for all refined products -- gasoline, naphtha, jet fuel, kerosene, gasoil, low sulfur A-fuel (a blend of gasoil and fuel oil in a 90:10 ratio), high sulfur A-fuel, low sulfur fuel oil and high sulfur fuel oil.

Platts has also stopped publishing PAJ data for naphtha stocks, LSFO and HSFO imports and all refined product exports.

This decision impacts the following data symbols:

Platts will also no longer update PGA 2153 and PRF 2153 on its alert services due to the discontinued publication of weekly production data, and remove certain data points from PGA 2152 and PRF 2152 due to the data discontinuation by the PAJ .
