S&P Global Platts will update the foreign exchange assessment published in Platts LNG Alert page 1160 and Platts Natural Gas Alert page 1028 under its Natural Gas Futures Assessments at London Close table to accurately reflect the foreign exchange rate used in the conversion of the NBP (National Balancing Point) assessments from Feb. 28, 2022.
Currently, Platts uses its US dollar-GBP foreign exchange assessment (price database code AACOO00) at the 4:30 pm London close to convert the NBP assessments into $/MMBtu. Platts will start publishing this US dollar-GBP foreign exchange assessment in the two alert pages from Feb. 28, 2022, replacing the GBP-US dollar foreign exchange assessment (AAWFV00) time stamped at the 4:30 pm Singapore close that is currently published in the two alert pages.
The publication update will not impact the current conversion of the NBP assessments to $/MMBtu. The US dollar-GBP foreign exchange assessment (AACOO00) also appears in European Gas Daily and Platts European Gas and Power Alert page 99.
Separately, Platts will discontinue publishing the GBP-US dollar foreign exchange assessment (AAWFV00) at the 4:30 pm Singapore close from Feb. 28, 2022 (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/123021-platts-to-discontinue-uk-nbp-assessments-at-singapore-close-feb-28).
