S&P Global Platts seeks feedback on a proposal to only use Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) trades, received from ICE in the preliminary monthly indices published each day during bidweek.
Currently, Platts also includes price submitters' trades not done on ICE, in the preliminary monthly indices. Platts has observed however that the number of price submitter trades not done on ICE is very low, since most price submitters do not submit bidweek trades each day during bidweek. On average, these trades comprise less than 2% of the preliminary monthly indices.
Platts is proposing to implement the methodology change for the preliminary indices only on trade date February 24, 2020, the first day of March 2020 bidweek.
The methodology for final monthly indices will not change and will continue to include price submitter trades not done on ICE.
