S&P Global Platts began publishing weekly spot freight assessments for ethylene from the US Gulf Coast to Northeast Asian ports with effect from Jan. 8, 2021.
The assessment reflects the freight rate for ethylene transported from the US Gulf Coast to NE Asia in $/mt, with a volume range of 9,000-12,000 mt.
Platts will consider data for assessment purposes that includes but is not limited to transactions, bids and offers. The prices are published in $/mt, and reflect the prevailing market value at 1:30 pm CT weekly on Fridays. The NE Asia ports include South Korea (Daesan, Ulsan, Yeosu), Taiwan (Kaohsiung, Mailiao), Japan (Mizushima, Chiba, Tokuyama, Kashima, Ube, Oita, Yokkaichi, Kawasaki); and China (Shanghai, Ningbo, Nantong).
The assessment is published on Platts Petrochemical Alert page 417, in the Petrochemical Service on the Platts Platform, in the Platts pricing database under the following symbol:
AUSNA00 US-NE Asia 9-12 kt Weekly
This project is published alongside a new assessment for ethylene exports. For details on that assessment, please see the subscriber note here: http://plts.co/zFPg30rrTSO.
