Platts confirms that it has renamed its assessments for FOB ARA fuel oil 3.5% barge swaps, FOB ARA fuel oil 1% barge swaps, and related derivatives assessments to reflect "FOB Rotterdam" as their basis location with effect from January 8, 2014, slightly later than the originally planned January 2 effective date. The renaming, first proposed by Platts on December 11, 2012, better aligns the assessment with underlying physical market assessments used to settle these derivatives. Rotterdam is the basis location for the Platts physical high sulfur fuel oil barge assessments that underpin these derivatives. The related swaps assessments are published on Platts Forward Curve Europe, an add-on information service to Platts Global Alert.
