Platts seeks comments on possible additions to North American natural gas price locations

Platts is considering adding two pricing locations for North American natural gas to its daily and monthly-bidweek spot-gas price surveys, and is seeking comments to help determine how to best define the potential new locations and to gauge their viability. Rockies Express Pipeline, Clarington, Ohio

Platts is considering the addition of Rockies Express, Clarington, Ohio, postings to its daily and monthly-bidweek price surveys. Platts seeks comments on whether there would be enough trading activity to make this location a useful addition to the daily and monthly-bidweek surveys.

As initially envisioned, the postings would reflect deliveries from REX at its terminus to any of the three delivery points at Clarington -- Dominion Transmission Inc., Dominion East Ohio and Texas Eastern Transmission Corp.

Platts is also seeking comments on whether transactions delivered from REX to the Dominion Transmission interconnect should be used only in the possible new REX, Clarington, posting, or also used in Platts' existing Dominion Transmission "South Point" (daily) and "Appalachia" (monthly-bidweek) price postings. A delivery from REX to Dominion Transmission falls within Platts? existing definitions for those postings. Additionally, Platts welcomes any other thoughts on the best way to cover REX deliveries on the east end of its system.

Transwestern Pipeline Co. - San Juan Basin

Platts also is considering adding daily and monthly postings for Transwestern Pipeline Co., San Juan Basin. As initially envisioned, the pricing location would be a delivered-to-Transwestern posting. Platts seeks comments on whether the posting should include deliveries to all 19 receipt points in Transwestern?s San Juan zone -- both in La Plata County, Colorado and San Juan County, New Mexico -- or whether it should be restricted to only the 11 receipt points in San Juan County that comprise Transwestern's Blanco Hub.
