Platts proposes to discontinue Petrobras posted price monthly averages

S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue its calculated monthly averages for the daily Petrobras posted prices of VLSFO 0.5%S and marine gasoil in the four ports where Platts publishes pricing, effective May 3, 2021.

There will be no change to the publication of the daily Petrobras posted prices.

Platts calculates monthly averages for Petrobras' posted prices for VLSFO 0.5%S and MGO in Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador.

These monthly average calculations are not posted by Petrobras, but are instead calculated from the prices posted by Petrobras. However, the underlying posted prices from Petrobras are updated inconsistently, sometimes missing days and sometimes with multiple updates during the same day. This has meant that the monthly calculations do not reflect a standard monthly average as seen in other Platts prices.

The affected prices are:
