Platts to launch daily R-PET food grade pellets FOB Southeast Asia assessment Feb. 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch a daily FOB Southeast Asia recycled polyethylene terephthalate food grade pellets assessment, effective Feb. 1.

The assessment will provide price transparency for the growing R-PET pellet market, and complement our existing suite of recycled polymers assessments.

Details of the new assessment are as follows:

Product Specifications:

Color: clear

Feedstock origin: post-consumer feedstock

Intrinsic viscosity: Minimum 0.80

Assessment specifications:

Unit of measurement: $/mt

Basis: FOB Southeast Asia

Cargo size: 20-200mt

Loading period: 3-21 days

Other parcels with varying specifications may be normalized to the above stated standard.

The new assessment will be based on firm bids, offers, trades, and indicative values as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.

It will reflect the spot value on a daily basis at 4:30 pm SGT and will follow the Singapore publishing calendar.

The new assessment will be published alongside Platts existing R-PET assessments in Asian Petrochemicalscan, Polymerscan, the Platts real-time petrochemical service, Platts Connect, and Platts Petrochemicals Alerts on fixed pages 409 under the following codes:
