Following an extensive review, Platts confirms that it will discontinue its FOB Korea and FOB Okinawa 1.5% 180 CST fuel oil assessments, as well as FOB Okinawa 3.5% 180 CST fuel oil assessments. These will be discontinued from April 1, 2014. Platts has been assessing the grades in these locations since 1998. The assessments are currently published on Platts Global Alert, Platts Asia Pacific Arab Gulf Marketscan and in the Platts price assessment database. This proposal was first announced on September 13, 2013, and reflects an evolution in trade flows that has resulted in those grades no longer being typically sold from those locations. Please send any further comments or queries to asia_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
