SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts changes specifications for 62% Fe CFR China iron ore index

S&P Global Platts has updated from January 2, 2018, the specification and delivery port of The Steel Index 62% Fe iron ore fines, CFR Tianjin port, to more closely reflect the specifications of the spot market's most liquid products.

The change sees modifications to alumina, sulfur and phosphorus levels, and minimum lot size, as well as a move of the basis port to Qingdao from Tianjin.

On January 2, 2018, Platts merged the TSI-62% (TS01021) and IODEX (IODBZ00) price series. Details of this merger can be found here: https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/26735730.
