Platts to launch new manganese ore assessment, align to weekly

Effective December 5, 2014, Platts will launch a new weekly spot price assessment for 37% manganese ore CIF China and a new monthly average and yearly average for same.

This is in addition to the current Platts assessment for 44% manganese ore CIF China, which commencing December 5, 2014 will be published on a weekly basis, to align with other manganese assessments, and will be redescribed as Manganese Ore 44% Mn CIF China.

There will be no yearly average for 2014 run for the new assessment. The yearly average will be run in 2016 for prices for 2015.

Weekly prices will run on Fridays and will be published on PMA page 395, and in Metals Daily, Metals Week and SMD.

Effective December 1,2014 Platts will discontinue the weekly average for Manganese Ore 44%, as the daily will become a weekly assessment.
