Platts to launch Indonesia LSWR V-500 assessment

Platts will launch a new assessment for the V-500 grade of Indonesian Low Sulfur Waxy Residue (LSWR).

The assessment will be published on a daily basis, and labeled LSWR. Indonesia's Pertamina has been reducing production and exports of mixed/cracked LSWR since June 2010, and currently exports only V-500 quality LSWR from Balikpapan and straight run LSWR from Dumai.

The following codes were created in dispatch category CX.

They represent the daily assessment and monthly average of LSWR FOB Indonesia.

The daily assessment will be published on PGA page 42, the APAGscan and Platts Oilgram Price Report (OPR). Monthly averages beginning November 1, 2010, for October averages will be published in Platts Monthly Price Average Supplement.

Launch date is scheduled for October 1, 2010.
