New and updated European gas and power symbols

Commodity: Natural Gas and Electric Power Region: Europe

As Platts is continuing the efforts to implement changes which will improve the quality and timeliness of the price and volume values we publish for European exchanges in dispatch categories ET and EH, the following symbols have been created or updated. Index and closing prices will be stored under 'c' bates, and volumes will be stored under 'u' bates.

The main adjustment required is new bates for existing symbols; in some cases, other information, such as frequency, has been corrected as well; also, symbol descriptions have been revised. Once the changes are in place, close/index price history stored under 'u' bates and volume history stored under 'w' bates will be moved to 'c' and 'u' bates, respectively. The changes will be launched at the end of September 2009.
