In order to bring more concise and relevant market coverage to our customers, S&P Global Platts will redesign the four daily regional natural gas pricing commentaries, four daily regional power pricing commentaries, and two weekly power pricing commentaries starting on June 15, 2020.
It will also discontinue the NYMEX Natural Gas Futures daily market commentary beginning June 15, 2020.
For the regional natural gas commentaries, Platts will redesign the Northeast Gas Markets, Central Gas Markets, Southeast Gas Markets and West Gas Markets regional commentaries in Gas Daily and Energy Trader from block text to a bullet-point format.
For the regional power commentaries, Platts will apply the same changes to the Northeast Power Markets, PJM/MISO Power Markets, Southeast Power Markets and West Power Markets regional commentaries in Megawatt Daily and Energy Trader. The weekly Emissions Markets and REC Markets commentaries, which are published on Thursday of every week, will also transition to the new bullet point format.
The redesign will continue to highlight key price drivers and market fundamentals, but in a more concise and easy to read manner.
In addition, Platts will discontinue the daily NYMEX Natural Gas Futures commentary. NYMEX contract price movements will continue to be covered periodically in market-driven news stories, as well as in the existing daily 24-month pricing table.
The above redesign and discontinuations will take effect in the June 16, 2020 Gas Daily, Megawatt Daily, and Energy Trader issues published on June 15, 2020.
